Present Board Members:  Vice Chairperson; John Wright, Len Heroux, Mark Vickery, Tim Adams.   
Also Present:  Director; Ruth Plummer, Program Coordinator; Shawn Mullen  
 
Call To Order:  John Wright called to order the April 3, 2012 Regular Meeting of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.   
 
Approval of the minutes of the March 6, 2012 regular meeting of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board:  Len Heroux motioned to approve the March 6, 2012 minutes with a correction to the adjournment section (Motion to adjourn was not recorded correctly).  Shawn Mullen will make the change.  Tim Adams seconded the motion.  All approved (4-0).    
 
Audience of Citizens:  None   
 
Communications 
- Draft letter and proposal to John Weichsel from Ruth Plummer regarding Recreational Needs Sub-Committee.  
 
 
The Advisory Board discussed the letter and proposal and made suggestions for several revisions.  Ruth Plummer will make the necessary changes to the documents.  Mark Vickery motioned to recommend to Town Council that fields and facilities be looked at in accordance with these documents.  Tim Adams seconded the motion.  All approved (4-0).   
 
Director’s Report:  Ruth Plummer reported on the status of Parks and Recreation operations.  Everyone was given a copy of the report.   
 
Unfinished Business 
- Governor William O’Neil Performing Arts Gazebo update
 
 
The lowest qualified bidder for this project was Scope Construction.  It will be recommended to Town Council that the contract be awarded to them.  The goal is to finish construction by July 4, 2012.   
- AirLine Trail extension to Main Street update 
 
 
Construction is underway.    
- Survey for recreational needs
 
 
See communications.   
- Gazebo use policies and procedures 
 
 
This will be addressed again at the next meeting.   
 
New Business    
- Aeration and over-seeding bid package.  
 
 
Three bids were received for this project.  The bids will be opened on April 4, 2012.   
 
 
Other Concerns 
- Len Heroux mentioned that the East Hampton High School Football Team wants to play their final game of the season next year in East Hampton.
 
- Mark Vickery made several suggestions about improvements to the Youth Basketball Program and ideas to help out coaches in the program.  Shawn Mullen will work with Mark to implement some of these ideas for next season.
